The AARP Tax-Aide program offers free income tax preparation in conjunction with the IRS and the AARP Foundation. The program is open to everyone regardless of age but is primarily geared to senior citizens. There may be some limitations depending on the complexity of the return.

There are locations throughout Morris County as well as nationally. Local offices include Boonton Senior Center (Tuesdays), Parsippany Community Center (Tuesdays and Thursdays), Kinnelon Fire House (Thursdays), and Denville Municipal Building (Wednesday).

Taxpayers need to bring a social security card, picture ID, last year’s tax return, all documents dealing with wages (W-2), income from various sources (1099 INT, 1099 DIV and 1099 Misc), records of all expenses (medical costs, donations. Real Estate tax, higher education costs, etc).
