Building History is an opportunity to combine the magic of Minecraft world building with the power of community. Grades 3-8 are invited to participate in this community-based program.

Work as a team or on your own to build a historic Boonton location in a Minecraft world. Look at the Project Guide for more information.
Learn about the history of your site. Then record a 2-4 minute video of your Minecraft build while describing the history of that site. Watch this sample video .
Help create a virtual history tour of Boonton by submitting your video. Teams who create the best builds/videos will earn prizes.
All children in grades 3-8 are eligible. New and experienced Minecraft players are welcome (Minecraft is available at the Boonton Holmes Public Library if you don't have a copy of the game at home). You can sign-up if you would like to receive updates throughout the event. For the prizes, entries will be divided into two separate categories.
ES >>> Grades 3-5
MS >>> Grades 6-8
*All submitted entries will be included in the Virtual History Tour of Boonton
Several events will be held at the Boonton Holmes Public Library to help guide you through this project. Each event is on a Monday evening at 6pm.
Minecraft Kickoff Party! Let's all share our love of Minecraft with some Minecraft inspired activities @ the Boonton Holmes Public Library. You will also learn all about the Boonton Cubed Minecraft Challenge.
Minecraft Workshop: New to Minecraft? Join us to learn how to setup your world and start your Minecraft build.
History Hunt: Talk to members of the Boonton Historical society or use the library resources to learn about the history of the location you chose for your Minecraft build.
Capture Your World: Whether you are using a computer, game console, or tablet, join us to learn how to record a video of your Minecraft build.
Submit Your Video: Now's the time to submit your video! You can share your video with [email protected] or bring your video on a flash drive to the Boonton Holmes Public Library to be copied.
Project Celebration: You are all now B³ Engineers, lets celebrate! At this event we will launch the virtual walking tour of Boonton with your videos. Awards (donated by the Marcade Family Fun Center) will be given to the teams that created the best builds.
