Youth Programs

Summer Reading 2018 is here!

Throughout the summer, the BHPL will host fun, educational, and FREE events for kids as part of the 2018 Summer Reading Program! The theme this year is Libraries Rock, so look out for some music-themed fun!

Returning this year are old favorites, Mad Science, Art Kids Academy, and Touch the Music. We’ll also be hosting DIY days, STEAM projects and more!  Check out our Youth Services website for information about all of our programs! To register, call 973-334-2980 or email Registration is open now!

Ongoing Programs (Check the Calendar for dates):

Baby Story Time (0 – 18 months)
Mondays from 10:15 – 10:45
This story time is geared towards babies ages 0 to 18 months and their caregivers. The 30 minutes story time will include nursery rhymes, simple stories, songs, finger plays and movements, followed by a period of play for babies and a chance for caregivers to chat.

Story time (18 months to 5 years)
Tuesdays from 11:00-11:30am
Wednesdays from 10:30-11:00am
The 30 minute story time will include stories, songs and crafts!

Story Nights (18 months & up)
One Thursday a month, 6:30-7:00
This story time will be similar to the weekly story times, older siblings are welcomed to attend!

LEGO Club (Ages 5 & up)
Every other Wednesday, 4:00-5:00
We provide the LEGOs, you bring the imagination! Join with other LEGO lovers, and see what you can create!

Drop in Craft Saturdays (All ages)
Drop in anytime between 10 and 3 to complete a craft at your leisure. Any age welcomed, no registration required.

Story Nights (All ages)
This story time will include stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts!
